 THE STORY AS I KNOW IT.

Margaret Yates was born about 1780 in Baltimore. According to the book Revolutionary Patriots of Baltimoretown 1775-1783 by Henry C. Peden Jr., her father was Thomas Yates and her mother, Mary Myers.

The book also states that Margaret married Jacob Walsh. The Baltimore Federal Gazette reported on Saturday, June 26, 1802 that "Jacob Walsh Jr. married at Springfield on Thursday evening by Rev. Mr. Bend. Jacob Walsh Jr., merchant to Margaret Yates daughter of Thomas Yates, Esq. All of this city."

I have a note that was from a Baltimore church record but I failed to state which one, that one Jan. 2, 1810 Jacob and Mary Walsh had 2 children baptized:
Elizabeth Ann
Thomas Yates - a biography held in the Baltimore Historical Society states he was born 1809 - died 1865.

It is firmly believed that Margaret Yates and Jacob Walsh also had a son William H. Walsh, born in 1821. .. Williams's first son was named Thomas Yates.

There may have been other children but they are unknown at this time.

It is not known when Margaret died.
